Tickets go on sale on Wednesday 30 April for Cowal Gathering’s flagship Friday night Gig at the Gathering (GATG), the best way to kick off your Cowal Gathering weekend.

Trail West is set to headline this year’s event, promising to bring a hoolie to Top Field as they celebrate their 15th anniversary. The band is no stranger to the Gathering, having headlined both the GATG and Saturday’s Live Music Tent, most recently in 2023.

Alongside Trail West, is Inverness based band Cala, who also played the Live Music Tent in 2023 and are back by popular demand, this time debuting the GATG stage. Cala are festival favourites, appearing this year at Skye Live and Heb Celt. They will be playing the GATG fresh from their appearance at Interceltique de Lorient.

Since its inception in 2015, GATG has showcased young bands, giving them the opportunity to play to a large, live audience. And this year is no different as joining Trail West and Cala is Cowal Gathering first-timers, Culla. This young, lively trad band is based in the Outer Hebrides and bring the west coast sound back to Dunoon.

Cowal Gathering Chair David Mitchell is looking forward to this year’s GATG saying: ‘I am delighted at this year’s line-up. The GATG is a fantastic night out which appeals to music lovers of all ages.

‘It’s a great place to meet up with friends and to make sure your Gathering weekend sets off with a bang!

‘It promises to be a great night, so I’d recommend getting your tickets early nobody wants to be the one who misses out on a great night.’
